Lor Waggonbau Goarlitz VEB an unidentified itussian unit stationed in
Patsdan,o EAah train was to consist of five carsg one operati ~_ cars one
kitchen carp two hospital camp and one air for electrical, machin '0 The cars
were to have the normal Reichebahn symbols outside, but were not to be marked
with a red Grosso instructions inside the cars were to be in Russian, The cars
wd to be for standard gauge rail lines, nonconvertible to broad gauge
20 The first two trains were delivered to a Russian commission at the beginning
of January 1952 and were moved to Wildparka near Berlin0 A further six trains
were delivered to a Russian commission in March 1952 but in April were still
in Goerlit awaiting minor alterations ordered by the commission. The remaining
two trains were not to have been completed before the beginning of May 1952,
On 15 April. 1952 an order to paint the cars with a preservative was issued by
the Russian authorities,
As of April no further orders laid been given to Waggonbau Goerl.its, although
originally a figure of 35 trains had been mentioned.
At that time, work was being carried out by the Goerlitz plant and by Iowa
Waggonbau Niesky VEB on an order for flatcars,, type R 80, An order for '19600
was to make 400 axle sets (Drehgesteil) for the flats, The cars., four-axle
flatcars capable of carrying a weight of 80 tons, were being built for standard
and broad gauge conversion,
6, The Goerlitz plant was also in cep . of an order for 700 flatcars,, type RR 60,
