Approved For Release 2006/09/25 : CIA-RDP72-00337Rb00100130109-4 4 April 1969 MORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence Fretbright Request for Publication of the Director's Transcript of July 19, 1965 cy, Staff Director, Senate Foreign Committee, advises that similar letters requesting review of transcripts of testimony concerning the Dominican Republic for possible publication have been forwarded to Mr. Laird, Mr. Rogers and Mr. Munoz Marine, as well as yourself. Carl feels there is no intention of going into Agency matters but does request a letter for the Chairman setting forth some specifics as to why we are unable to sanitize and release the transcript. For your information alone, he also advised that Tom Mann is writing a book on this period. In consequence, the Committee is drawing their material together to see what they have prior to final determination on publication. JOHN M. Drexel Godfrey, Jr. , OCI, and Lawrence R. Houston, General Counsel. Present from the Committee were Senators Fulbright, Morse, Mansfield, Lausche, Symington, Clark, McCarthy, Hickenlooper, Aiken, Mundt, and Case together with Messrs. Holt, St. Claire, Henderson, Tillman and Jones, of the Committee staff. Admiral Raborn gave a prepared statement on the Dominican crisis (Pages 375 - 383).
