NOTES
YEMEN (ADEN): President All appears to be
moving- rapidly to neutralize or eliminate his chief `1->
rival, Ismail, secretary-general of the ruling Na-
tional Front. Ali's crackdown began in late June
when he arrested the chief of intelligence and se-
curity, one of Ismail's leading supporters. The
two leaders head opposing factions. of the National
Front and have serious policy differences. All,
who now seems to hold the upper hand, is more con-
cerned with domestic problems than is Ismail.
