After getting an okay frox office, CSS/NFAC, I arranged the Agency's assistance in translating the articles and said he knew ORPA, personally and knew he was qualified to help him. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who said Ambassador Frank Carlucci had given the staff a number of news clippings reflecting Portuguese media reaction to his nomination as DDCI. Taylor asked for .everything they needed. 14. I LIAISON Received a call from Mike Epstein, Senate Select .Committee on Intelligence staff, who said he and Ed Levine, also of the. Committee staff, would like to meet with DDCI- designee, Frank Carlucci, for 15 or 20 minutes later today. This was set for 3:45 p.m . The time and arrangements were not settled. We also confirmed Gi-za's schedule for this afternoon, including a meeting with Dick Lehman, NFAC, regarding NFAC evaluations and review of additional documents provided by C/EPDS/DDO, regarding DDO evaluations. Regarding the quality of analysis study Giza had requested, I told. him we had identified it and it would be sent to Representative Edward Boland (D., Mass.), Chairman of the Committee, with a covering letter. LIAISON Received a call from Louise Dreuth, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who asked for a final Agency witness list for tomorrow's Subcommittee on Legislation briefing on electronic surveillance.
