1. Purpose of Meeting:

opened the meeting indicating that the MCGWG should
try to cover all the items on the agenda forwarded 8 February 1972.
However, since the agenda had been forwarded the DIA had found the
matter of evaluation criteria for the 12" SI coverage - item e on the
agenda was not ready for discussion in the Working Group. In particular
the question of acceptability at orbital altitude needed further study.
It was indicated that this item should be delayed until the next meeting.

in Support of MC&G.

technical recommendations at this time followed up by more long range
recommendations in early April was an appropriate time schedule for this
information to be furnished. mentioned that generally the
schedule was late for the ideal timing of his office in that their general
schedule was to provide guidance to the program office by about the middle
of February and that in April to July the NRO staff would review the
recommendations of the program office. After some discussion as to the
schedule, concluded that even though it wasn't the most
opportune time they should continue to work on coming up with the long
term objective by about the first week in April.

requirements should be substantially the same for any remaining KR-4
