Cyprus: Trouble may be brewing over the with-
drawal of Greek "illegal" troops from Cyprus. Turk-
ish officials are concerned that all these Greek forces
may not be withdrawn. by 18 January as agreed be-
tween the two countries last month. Noting that none
have been taken off the island since 20 December,
Ankara has warned that emotions would again flare
up if the Turkish people become aware that the evacua-
tion is not proceeding. With only two weeks of the
45-day withdrawal period remaining, at least half--
and perhaps substantially :more--of the Greek "il-
