Mr. HATHAWAY submitted. the following concurrent resolution; which was
referred to the Committee on Armed Services
CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To establish a Joint Committee on Information and Intelligence.
1 Resolved by the Senate (the house of Representatives
2 concurring), That (a) there is hereby established a joint
3 congressional committee to he known as the Joint Committee
4 on Information and Intelligence (referred to in this concur-
5 rent resolution as the "joint committee") , to be composed of
6 seven Members of the Senate appointed by the President of
7 the Senate, and seven Members of the House of Representa-
8 tives appointed by the Speaker of the House of Represent?t-'
9 tives. In each instance not more than four members shall be
1o appointed from the same political party.

2 Federal Government for classifying restricted data or defense
3 information.
4 (g) The joint committee shall keep a complete record
5 of all committee actions, including a record of the votes on
6 any question in which a. record vote Is demanded. All corn-
7 mittee records, data, charts, and files shall be the property
8 of the joint committee and. shall be kept in the offices of the
joint committee, or such other places as the joint committee
10 may direct, under such security safeguards as the .joint com-
11 mittee shall determine to be in the interest of national
12 security.
13 (h) The joint committee may make such rules respect-
14 ing Its organization and procedures as it deems advisable,
15 but no measure or recommendation shall be reported from
16 the joint committee unless a majority of the members thereof
17 assent.
18 SEc. 2. (a) The joint committee shall. make continuing
19 studies of-
20 (1) the activities of each information and intelli=
21 Bence agency of the United States,
22 (2) the relationships between information and in-
23 telligence agencies of the United States and United
24 States-based. corporations and the effect of such relation':
