SUBJECT : SSCI Session on El Salvador
1. Attached are the most recent materials I have for tomorrow's SSCI
session. You already have with you, according to Joe, the CIA, State, and
DIA responses to most of the questions.
2. I have included in this book for your reference a copy of the original
questions from the SSCI, as well as a copy of your letter to Senators Goldwater
and Moynihan forwarding responses to some of their questions. In addition,
people have provided responses to some of the questions which had not been
answered.

3. In a separate book, I have pulled together for you the various ad hoc
background pieces you had asked for yesterday from 25X1
I am not sure how much of that you want to review for tomorrow's session, but
I have tried to organize it so you can easily leaf through it.

SUBJECT . SSCI Session on El Salvador
1. Attached are the most recent materials I have for tomorrow's session,
which, as you know, is intended to respond to SSCI questions following the
Director's appearance on 25 February.
2. Included in this book is the set of questions from the SSCI to which
DIA, CIA, and INR have contributed responses; some of the DDO's responses
were forwarded by the Director to Goldwater and Moynihan today (see Tab C).
This was an effort to meet in some measure the Committee's desire to have the
responses in writing. Tab D includes the package of joint CIA, DIA, and INR
responses to most of the remaining questions.
3. people are still working on the answers to some of
the questions, but the answers probably will not be ready until tomorrow.
4. It was agreed this morning at a meeting with the Director that Hugh
Montgomery would respond to the human rights questions, would 25X1
respond to the military-related questions, and would address 25X1
the political questions, including questions on the leftists and rightists.
