SUBJECT Meeting with McFarlane, 27 October 1982
1. The material herein is quite bulky, but most is
attributable to the material passed to Clark for his Mitterrand
briefing It is included at Tab P merely as a reminder.
2. The following subjects have been proposed for your
meeting:

-- El Salvador. I don't believe you have had a
chance to discuss with McFarlane or Clark the
latest information we have on the insurgency
in El Salvador. (See the recent NID item and
your discussion with In addition,
we have received info on more helicopters going
to Nicaragua. Finally, you may wish to discuss
the timing of the NSPG Meeting onCuba in light
of your (DCI) upcoming trip. The President has
called for the meeting by 15 November.
NFIB Meeting. You may wish to brief McFarlane
on the results of yesterday's NFIB discussion of
US-Egyptian relations, the readiness of Warsaw
Pact ground forces, and Soviet Naval strategy.
Intelligence Producers Council.
reports that some thought has been given in
the NSC staff to organize a consumer panel to
analyze intelligence products. You may wish to
ask what precisely is in mind, particularly in
view of existence of the Intelligence Producers
Council.
- Clark's Briefing for Mitterrand. You may wish to
discuss with McFarlane material provided Clark
yesterday for his briefing on various subjects
including tech transfer, terrorism, the pipeline,
