The following items of interest were noted on WAC 199 CHITA MILITARY BARRACKS & TRAINING AREA, USSR 52 05N-113 29E Approximately 200 unidentified vehicles were observed throughout the installation. The training areas appeared to have a medium level of activity. WAC 201 ULAN-UDE ARMY BARRACKS BEREZOVSKIY, USSR 51 53N-107 31E More than 600 vehicles/pieces of equipment were observed parked in the open throughout the installation. Approximately 140 of these vehicles are probable tanks (see Figure 2). The tracked vehicle driver training area and the tank/assault gun firing range showed a medium level of activity. Figure 2 shows one of the vehicle/equipment maintenance/storage areas at 25X1 this installation. The 10 buildings with.the light roof are new since I I ULAN-UDE AMMUNITION DEPOT, TALTSY, USSR 51.50N-107 47E Equipment and support vehicles for a possible unidentified cruise missile system, possibly army associated, were observed at this installation. Travel between the two countries appears to be limited both by road and rail routes. A train is observed on the photography at the border checkpoint between the two towns. Approximately 15 cars and an engine are in the train - movement appears to be toward the town of Manchu-Li. WAC 288 SHAN-PA AREA, PROBABLE MILITARY INSTALLATION, CHINA 40 55N-107 04E A small probable military installation is located approximately 2 km NW of Shan-Pa.. Facilities include a total of 14 buildings, a probable infantry training area and 14 possible artillery pieces. WAC 383 TING-KOU-CHEN AREA PROBABLE NQLITARY INSTALLATION, CHINA 39 54N-1o6 42E A small probable military installation is located on the west edge of Ting-Kou-Chen..
