I. Reporting Requirements
1. The National Security Council and especially the President-
and the Secretaries of State and Defense has high priority requirements
for timely and accurate information and interpretive analyse
Given the nature of US interests this wil remain e
case in the foreseeable future.
2. In general terms, these requirements can be categorized as
follows:
a. Political: Information and interpretive analysis on
the maneuvering and intentions of the major political elements
(parties, cliques, and personalities) particularly as they
relate to US interests. The decision-making process is of
special interest.
b. Foreign Policy: Information and interpretive analysis
on major developments and trends 25
particularly as they relate to the 25'0
US. The identification of possible new decisions and policies
while still in the formative stage is of special importance.
