The film (at the Baronet) is a routine espionage thriller set in, a mythical Caribbean republic where $40 million in stolen Amer!- call currency has been. stashed by a ring of crimi- nals. Christopher George plays an adventurer and escape artist who is imprisoned for the heist. While pro- claiming his innocence, he escapes from jail, is recap- tired and is offered a chance to get a reduction in his sentence if he does a 1s=ftla favor for the CIA.--- , "THE OCLTA, FACTOR," nro- ducec'', written and directed by Tay Garret; based on a novel by Mickey, Spillane. It seems that all impor- tant scientist is being held as a political prisoner on the island.of Nueva Cadiz. Since the fortress is consid- ered impregnable, the CIA decides to utilize George's great technique to break into the prison and bring out their mail. George, knowing that the money is also on the is- land, accepts the commis- sion since it offers him an opportunity to recover it and thereby c l e a r his Marne. 1 /i , I( -e /J eo_ ~,, rte- Yvette Mirnieux, a . CIA agent, is persuaded to mar- ry George to provide him with a cover story and to keep an eye on hint. I: os- ing as honeymooners, they arrive to find they are caught in a bind, between corrupt politicians and po- lice and ruthless thieves. The rest of the thriller is predictable and pedestrian. But George is a much more I likable and attractive hero than Spililane's old standby\ Mike Ifanlmner.
