MIETOC, POLAND
The aircraft plant at Mielec in southeast Poland is one of the
major satellite aircrat--.Lroduction facilities. This plant is currently
engaged in production of Fagot (MEG--]5) aircraft and is the only plant

producing combat aircraft in Poland. TALENT photography shows that the

Mielec plant has been considerably enlarged since World War II.
The covered floor space of the plant is now approximately 1,509,000
square feet which is approximately 3 times the World War II floor space
of 505,000 square feet' The Mielec plant now comprises 63 percent of the
covered floor area of the Polish aircraft industry. .,A total of 25 new
buildings has been constructed at Mielec since

buildings are modern in design: and are the equal of any of the aircraft
assembly buildings seen in the Soviet aircraft plants.
The runway of the ,adjoining airfield has been extended and now measures
200 feet by 7900 feet. The runway is now capable of handling aircraft
as large as the Bison and Badger aircraft. The Mielec plant is now
large enough to produce aircraft of the size o'f the Badger.
Prior to the TALENT photography, the size of the Mielec plant ;mss
not known. Based on interpretation of Word War II aerial photography, the
plant area was 505,000 square feet Reports were received that
