The Ust Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant, appearing on _
- photography, is Located on the northeast edge of the city. It is
adjacent to and serves the Ust Kamenogorsk Zinc ar~d Lead Plant (see
HTA/M-57/57), and also reportedly supplies power to the city. It is the
only power plant visible in the city whit;h was partially cloud covered,
The plant area measures approximai:ely 2,750 by 950 feet over-all
(see accompanying photogra}~h and drawing), It is both road and rail
served. A single detached stack, 300 feet high, is present, from which
smake was issuing at the time of photograp:hy,.
A cQiriplete photographic analysis is precluded by clouds and cloud
shadows, which completely obscure some ~rortions of the plant and render
interpretation. difficult to others, The major visible components of the
power plant are identified on the line drawing and described in the
following key to annotations .
