1. The main purpose of the meeting was to agree upon the future
course of the master ozalid program which CIA and Air Force began in
1953. Based upon the answers to cables sent out by AFOIN to determine
the use made of codes appearing on reproduced IRts, AFOIN can no longer
justify asking CIA to continue coding masters. Since CIA is interested
in microfilming those enclosures which would not come to us on normal
distribution because of insufficient copies, AFOIN made a 1i day study
to determine the volume of this material. Approximately 22% of the
total take, or 350 items a week, falls into this category. It was agreed
that effective Monday, December 17, 1956, only this type of material will
come over to CIA with the master ozalid and the remainder of Air Force
material will be received in reproduced form. (this is comparable to the
G-2 agreement of August 195- and ONI agreement of January 1956).
and the responsible officers of AFOIN-1B2 will work out a
set of categories of enclosures which CIA does not wish to receive,
such as books, periodicals, maps, etc. The curtailment of the ozalid
program will enable AFOIN to serve its customers 5-6 days sooner than
at present.
2. Since AFOIN has not been using the microfilm furnished by
CIA on every IR received, this service can also be discontinued immediately.

3. The receipt of IBM "cut off" cards as control cards is still
considered necessary by AFOIN and CIA agreed to continue supplying
25X1A9a these cards. discussed the possibility of shortening the
bibliographic entry on Nodex" items by eliminating the title. Air
Force representatives asked that this be deferred for the time being.
~E. There was a short discussion of CIA using the codes which 25X1 Aga
w preparing for the Minieard Program.
25X1A9a ill work on a simplified Code Sheet w zc may ve
Minicard purposes as well as present Intellofax purposes.
5. Major Sidenberg reported that Ramo Wooldridge Company
seems to have a different concept of Minicard purposes then the
Air Force and that their report may recommend only an inter-library
exchange of Minicards.
