Early returns give the Na- tional Transformation Front (FTN) about 55 percent of the popular vote and show the National Popular Al- liance (ANP) to be the strongest force in the opposition. If these trends continue, the FTN will probably retain control of the executive branch of the government fol- lowing the presidential election in May, but the ANP will be able to bock future legislation.
