1. (Unclassified - II Talked with Peggy MacDonald in the
office of Senator Henry M. Jackson saying I would be glad to come up
to meet with Senator Jackson and Holmes Alexander at the Senator's
convenience. Miss MacDonald said she would mention this to the
Senator and advise.
.uavi.d ar in, Sta Assistant to Senator Dodd, gave me a copy of
a draft press release which he will recommend the Senator make in
rebuttal to Richard Starnes' most recent column regarding the Agency and
Senator Dodd's defense of the Agency. Martin has made this available
for Agency review and comment keeping in mind that the opinions expressed
are thoses of the Senator. This has been circulated to members of the
Task Force for comment.
3. (Unclassified -1I I advised Representative Sam Gibbons that
Mr. Dulles was presently out of the country but I would be able to: speak
to his secretary tomorrow and get some idea as to his commitments for
the latter part of March and the first part of April. (See Journal of 4 March)
It was agreed that we would discuss the matter further tomorrow.
