The existing marking system on the High-speed Precision Coordinatograph (plotter)
is operationally unsatisfactory. The ink currently in use is a slow drying
type such as used in oscillograph recorders. This type is necessary to allow
free-flowing, non-clogging operation. However, the drying properties make
the plot. unusable for immediate handling. In addition, the free-floe
characteristics of the ink causes frequent spattering in the dotting and
lettering modes. The pen now in use is an plotter
