Approved For Release 2005/07/20 gJ-"Rq80B01 USII= -D- :'.. 5/6 10 March 1961 Limited Distribution UNITED STATES INTELLIGENCE BOARD MEMORANDUM FOR: Chairman, Communications Intelligence Committee Chairman, Committee on Documentation Chairman, Committee on Exploitation of Foreign Language Publications Chairman, Committee on Overhead Reconnaissance Chairman, Cost Estimates Committee Chairman, Security Committee Chairman, Watch Committee SUBJECT : Implementation of Approved Recommendations re "Foreign Intelligence Activities" Set forth below for guidance is an excerpt from the minutes of the Intelligence Board meeting on 28 February (USIB-M-142, item 5) indicating the Board action on proposals designed to implement certain approved Joint Study Group recommendations. As you will note by reference also to USIB-D-1. 5/4, these USIB-approved proposals include action to be taken by your committee: " Concurred in Mr. Dulles' proposal regarding the implementation of certain approved Joint Study Group recommendations as set forth in his 21 February memo- randum (USIB-D-1. 5/4) and agreed that recommendations 10, 14, 15, 18, 38, 40, and 42 should be referred to appropriate USIB committees for the action indicated in the attachment to that memorandum, subject to modifica- tions of No. 14 and certain understandings as to the in- terpretation of Nos. 18 and 42. "In this connection, the Board agreed that the Committee on Documentation (CODIB) and the Committee on Overhead Reconnaissance (COMOR) should be added to those com- mittees with which the Security Committee should coordinate in developing its recommendations regarding No. 14.
