By arrangement with Capt. Higgins, Navy CODIB member, the Naval Security Station will brief CODIB members and other concerned CODIB-agency representatives on the compromising emanations problem in using certain equipment. A demonstration of how emanations can be picked up will be Included. 2. Communications equipment will'be demonstrated, possibly the ASR teletype, not fiexowriters, but there is direct application to the interests of the CODIB Working Group on Remote Systems Input and to those Committee members whose systems planning includes the use of flexowriters or other similar equipment. 3. Security level of the demonstration and briefing is SECRET. 4. The session will begin promptly at 1000 hours on 2 August 1961 at the Naval Security Station, 3801 Nebraska Avenue, N. W., Washington, D. C. Please call the names of those planning to attend and who have the required SECRET clearance to the Secretary by COB 31 July since the list of clearances will have to be forwarded to the Naval Security Station. 5. The demonstration will not be on a highly sophisticated or technical level.
