25X1 5. Delivered to the Joint Committee on Atomic
Energy two copies of SNIE 13-8-66. One of these copies is for the Joint
Committee and the other is to be held in custody for Colonel Glenn Smith,
of the Senate Preparedness Subcommittee staff.
George Murphy, of the Joint Committee staff, again mentioned the
desire of the Joint Committee to have the Director up for the annual
briefing of the Committee at the earliest opportunity in January.
Mr. Murphy gave to me the names of several people with whom
he had contact during the course of his visit to Israel with Senator Pastore.
He passed this for such information as we might have on them. (See Memo
for the Record for details. )
25X1 6. dvised James Kendall, Senate Preparedness
Subcommittee staff, that I had left on file with the JCAE a copy of SNIE
13-8-66.
Mr. Kendall said that at a convenient time he would like to have
the Soviet ICBM portion of the Director's briefing of the Subcommittee
on 6 October so that he might give it further study. I told him that, in
accordance with arrangements made at that time, we would be happy to
make this available to him.
25X1 7. Mr. Jose, in the office of Representative
Frank T. Bow, called and asked if they might have copies of a: number of
unclassified Agency maps which had been requested by a constituent who is
affiliated with an educational institution. We are checking with OCR on this.
