MEMORANDUM FOR THE UNITED STATES INTELLIGENCE BOARD

National Intelligence Survey (NIS)
Production Forecast for Fiscal Years 1966,
1967
REFERENCE:
USIB-M-334, 24 June 1964
1. In accordance with the reference the NIS Committee forwards
to USIB the attached NIS Production Forecast which the Committee has
developed for fiscal years 1966 and 1967.
2. The Forecast extends for the two fiscal years the pattern of
production priorities by topics and foreign areas which USIB approved
for the FY 1965 production schedule.
3. The attachment groups by major world regions the countries
on which NIS production is forecast during the two years. Africa will
receive the largest production emphasis, accounting for some 26% of
total NIS coverage forecast for the period. Latin America is second,
with approximately 20% of the total.
4. The General Surveys will provide nearly 60% of the total
coverage forecast for the two years. This reflects the increased
emphasis on the one-volume General Survey as the primary unit in
selective and accelerated NIS coverage.
