was very sorry that l did not have a chance to
you during your recent visit to Washington, but
hesitated to bother you knowing that you were very busy.
We receiveu a letter from the other day
giving us the details of kis return to this country arid
it appears now that he will be here around the xiddle of
February. He will, of curse, require a certain amount
of time to finish off his previous work and get settled
down with us.
Colonel Grogan tells Ae that you expect to come
to Washington at the end of tnis month. 'In view of the
fact that Will be assuming his duties sOMO
time after the middle of February, 1 think it would be
better to delay your trip to Washington until he is
aboard so that you can give him help in getting oriented
on his new Job. I will write you later and let you
know when would be the best time for this trip.
