2. In connection with the Career Service Staff,

3. The division Chiefs received packets of materials on the Career 25X1
Service Conference, to be held in the auditorium of the Department of
Agriculture at 3:30 P.M. on 3 August 1954. Designated representatives from
the Geographic Area will attend. Any questions on the Career Service
materials in the packet must be sent in to by noon of 21 July,

was requested that a history of ORR be prepared. This history will be
used in the briefing of General Clark. Each division must submit pertinent
information, 3 to 5 pages, double spaced, plus additional statistical and
graphic material. The large items to be covered are: A. history of
administration; B. pattern of personnel change; C. professional growth;
D. training;

expenditures; H. accomp s n s; I. major problems an objectives. r
accomplishments might be included reports, maps, programs, organizational
adjustments, coordination efforts, effectiveness of liaison and inter-
agency coordination, and external research. Each division can prepare much
of this information by going back through monthly reports and extracting
pertinent information. The information should be in hands 25X1 A9A
by 26 July, not later than 27 July. The reworked re rt for the entire
Geographic Research Area must be ready by 30 July. The 25X1
division reports can be brief and even In outline form, however, they
must indicate items to be included and indicate the slant. The final
report will be less than 15 pages. Often the significant items are not

things that can be labeled. Trends may be more important than reports and
administrative changes.

only that he found two graphics units within the DD/I area. and that the
