Bill Colby has approved an IC Staff recommendation to
authorize remote, interactive terminal access, by the Services
and intelligence agencies, to appropriate community management
information maintained on CIA computers. The installation of
remote terminals is, of course, subject to normal physical
security requirements and funding arrangements.

Your representative to the Critical Collection Problems
Committee, had recommended that DIA have remote
terminal access to the CCPC inventory of intelligence facilities
and installations overseas, and to the CIRIS data base.
I would appreciate your recommendations for the imple-
mentation of 'this new authority.
