SUBJECT Fraser Subcommittee Publication
1. The first public hearings of the investigation of
Korean-American relations by the Subcommittee on International
Organizations (Fraser Committee) were held on 15, 16, 21 and
22 March 1978. Concomitantly, the Subcommittee had published
a supplement of approximately 708 pages which purports to be
documents relating to Korean Cultural and Freedom Foundation,
Inc. and Radio of Free Asia.
2. The supplement to part 4 (pp 458-475) contains
declassified Agency information and reports which were made
3. While we regret the declassification and release of
these CIA documents (we have arrived at a somewhat different
formulation which will permit the Subcommittee to summarize
our information and reach the same result without our having
to surrender control of the use and future reuse of our
documents), we have no one with whom we can share our regret.
4. However, we object to the release by other Government
agencies (in this case the FBI - see pp 582 and 583) of iden-
tifying data in our memoranda. We request that you make known
our protest to your counterparts in the FBI.
