I3. LEGISLATION Called the Su ommittee
on Legislation and National 5ecu:rity of the House Government Operations
Committee to check on the status of H. R. 12171, the "Federal Accounting
an+d Audatng Act of 197$. " I was informed that one day of hearings has
alread.g been. held on the bill. The bill is currently pending before the
Su.bcomrnittee with no formal. action scheduled. I asked if the transcript
of the hearirsg was available and was told that the transcript which is being
printed by GPO is not yet available; however, a copy is available through
the Subcomrraattee .for reading and note-taking but not for copying.

Sea:-ate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who said he uo uld like to

Dir+ector~, Ser~a.te Select Committee on Intelligence, at home to ask him
whether the Gommittee would handle Agency information regarding Cuban
inv?lvernent i~a the recent invasion of Zaire with the Senate Foreign Relations
Gorar~rnittee. Miller said the Committee would but mentioned that he had

:information contradicting the findings of the Committee's Angola report.

'Tom Moore, math of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, and
confirmed the meeting tomorrow at 2:30 p. m. on Angola.

Relations Committee staff, called to say that in addition to the Committee's
request fc~r documents the Committee has now asked to have the DCI appear
and brief t~he fca31 Committee on tlLe situation in Zaire. We discussed possible
dates for suclx a briefing and it was decided the briefing would be held on
