Dulles, Wisner, Amory, Colonel White Messrs, Kirkpatrick, Helms, Sheldon, Bissell and 25X1 Mr. Dulles; a. Referred to the debriefing of Senator Ellender today and noted that in his opinion there were too many people present. The Director said we should keep attendance at briefings and debriefings to an absolute minimum in order that the principals i m ght feel more free to talk and ask questions, 2$ b. Asked Mr. Bissell to prepare a letter to Mr. Dodge and briefly outline his thoughts on what this'letter should contain, The Director said there was no immediate urgency about this, but he would like to see the draft during the last week of this month. c. Noted he had seen the Secretary of State over the weekend and the Secretary had asked that CIA consider what courses of action might be open in the event the ChlComs refuse to see Dag Hammarskjold, The Director said he felt this could best be handled by a Task Force composed of representatives from both sides of the Agency, and steered by Mr. Bissell. Mr. Amory undertook to follow through on this. 25X1 J. Raised the subject of sending CIA Christmas cards to the chiefs of the several foreign intelligence agencies and other foreign officials with whom we deal, and after some dis- cussion it was agreed thtt this should not be done. The Director said if any of our people strongly felt Christmas greetings should be sent to foreign nationals, he thought this should be accomplished by a brief classified note from him to the individual concerned, and that such notes should, of course, be sent through the Pouch. The Director also said if it was necessary for him to acknowledge any greetings we might receive, this should he accomplished by personal classified notes from him through the Pouch. Mr. Wisner: a.
