Frank Church's (D. , Ida.) Senate Select Committee to Study Government Oper
ations With Respect to Intelligence Activities to Ed Braswell, Chief Counsel
and Staff Director, Sc nate Armed Services Committee; Guy McConnell, staff,
Senate Appropriations Committee and Ralph Preston, House Appropriations
Committee staff, for their information.
5. (Unclassified - RJK) Delivered to the office of Representative
Silvio O. Conte (D. , Mass.), a copy of a letter dated 6 March 1.975 from
General Walters to a professor at Williams College. The original had alrea.d
been mailed directly to the college and this copy was merely to complete
the Congressman's file on the matter.
6. (Unclassified - RJK) Met with Shay Pollard, on the staff of
Representative Les Aspin (D., Wisc. ), and provided her with several. Middle
East maps per her request.
7. (Unclassified - RJK) Met with Eric Foreman, a Department of
Commerce detailee on the staff of Representative Donald W. Riegle, Jr..
(D., Mich.), and provided him with a map of the Middle E-ist and a copy
of the unclassified January 1975 NIS Fact Book.
8. (Internal Use Only - RJK) Spoke with Paul Zinsmeister,
Congressional Research Service, T.ihrar r r,f r _.nr.s. He had a number
of questions about the availability of Agency personnel manuals for,. as he
put it, "Senator Church's Select Committee and other committees. "
After checking with P, I advised Zinsmeister that our
personnel manuals were classified but that if he wished to pose a specific
question in the personnel area we would be very happy to give him an answer.
I told him as far as the Church Select Committee is concerned there was
a line of communication already established between the Committee and the
Agency and any questions should be submitted in that manner. (This com-
mittee is the Senate Select Committee to Study Government Operations With.
Respect to Intelligence Activities. )

2. (Unclassified - RJK) Met with Richard Perle, Permanent:.
Subcommittee on Investigations, Senate Government Operations Corn.m.i.ttee,, and_
provided him with two papers per arrangements made by Mr. Gary. The
first of these had to do with any personnel or equipment the U. S. provided
to Arab countries being shipped to other countries. The second was
an extract from the Director's prepared statement before the Arms Control.
Subcommittee, Senate Armed Services Committee, of 12 February 1975 dealing
with Soviet military resupply to Egypt, Syria and Iraq.
3. (Unclassified -- RJK) Delivered copies of the Agency publication
entitled "Potential Implications of Trends in World Population, Food Produc-
tion and Climate" to Dale De Haan, Refugees and Escapees Subcommittee,
Senate Judiciary Committee; Melanie Lemmen, Senator Charles H.. Percy's
(R. , Ill.) staff; Greg Rushford, Representative Clarence J_ong's (D. , Md. )
staff; Pierre Olney, Representative Pierre S. du Pont; III's (R. , Del, )
staff, and Jodie Levin-Epstein, Senator Dick Clark's (D. , Iowa) staff..
4. (Unclassified - RJK) Met with Alfred Reifman, Congressional
Research Service, s, and provided him with an initial
package of economic indicators prepared by the Agency per arrangements
STAT made by F_ I OER. Future indicators will be mailed to Mr.
Reitman but he appreciated this personal contact initially.
5. (Unclassified - RJK) Met with the secretary of Richard
Kaufman, Joint Economic Committee staff, and provided her with a Middle
East atlas and a number of copies of the Agency Intelligence Men-iorandums:
Current Inflation and Trade in Developed Countries" dated March 1975.

and asked if he could have a session with us to discuss the Agee book,
which he has read. I reviewed some of the statements that have previously
been made for the record by the Director and said I was sure we could arrange
for a session with him and suggested we have Mr. Brown out to the Agency
for breakfast sometime before next Thursday or after the Easter recess, STAT
to which he agreed.
8. (Internal Use Only - RJK) Received a call from Debbie, in the
office of Representative John N. Eshleman (R. , Ill., ting any unclas-
sified information we might have on CIA activities I gave her the STAT
title of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Subcommittee on Multi-
national Corporations, hearing of March - April 1973. She said this would
satisfy their needs.
