1430 hours in Milford's office. Security will sweep and monitor.
The briefing will be handled by Les Dirks, C:/Ob&;E/DDS&T.
2. BRIEFING I accompanied
Chief, Africa Division, to a briefing of Sena.tor. Strom '.I hurrnond
(R. , S. Car.) on all aspects of the Angola situation. At the outset,
Senator Thurmond called in three members of his staff to it in on
the briefing. However, I mentioned to Edward Kenney, on the staff
of the Senate Armed Services Committee, that certain information
that we were going to provide should be given to only the Senator.
Kenney mentioned this to the Senator and he asked the staff members
as well as the secretary to leave, which they did.
