AN ACT
To promote the national security by providing for a National
Security Organization, which shall be administered by a
Secretary of National Security, and for a Department of
the Army, a Department of the Navy, and a Department
of ` the Air Force within the National Security Organization,
and for the coordination of the activities of the National
Security Organization with other departments and agencies
of the Government concerned with the national security.
1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House, of Representa-
2 tines of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
4 That this Act may be cited as the "National Security
5 Act of 1947".

the validity of the remainder of the Act and of the applica-
2 tion of such provision to other persons and circumstances
3 shall not be affected thereby.
