John Bross and I are just working on the preparation
of a list of' witnesses to appear before our Committee hearings
on CIA which is scheduled to be held September 9. Obviously,
the Committee would be delighted to have you or any of the
other members of your Committee come down; also gratified,
edified, and educated by such witnesses.
I have heard, however, that you have some reluctance
and thus do not w :,nt to importune you to do so if, for any
reason, you hesitate. This, however, is not intended to
detract from the sincerity and cordiality of the invitation.
It will be pleasing to our Committee to have you and very
disappointing not to have you.
We are holding open some time so let us know as
