Two things,
First - my apologies for not getting a couple of
copies of the Tech Report to you in keeping
with earlier romi my TSCS
girl at TSD, to please send
you two copies on September 1978 rather than wait for
the 26 September. meeting of TSCS. There is no excuse for
not getting them out earlier other than pure oversight and
other commitments by all concerned. Let me know if they
are not forthcoming.
Second - There is considerable interest building in
the Community - stimulated by the NSC CI Working Group -
on the security issues
receive is word and passed it to me. He is
ready to make an offer of DIA assistance along this line
at the next SECOM meeting.

To anticipate NSC tasking and formalize the role of
SECOM, would it be appropriate for you or Karl Ackerman
to make mention of the fact that SECOM is expected to
assist SY in planning/implementing security for the new
Embassy? If this has already been done - I can't remember
it and can't find anything related to it in the SECOM
minutes since Gambino took over the Chair. I know that
there was agreement between Vic and Gambino (as D/Security
CIA) and that there is agreement between Karl and Gambino
to have CIA Security help where needed - but I don't find
such agreement at the SECOM level. I think it would be
good to formalize the SECOM role. What think you?
