recruited-579 men from each hsien in Hainan in order to increase the local
armed forces.. The recruits were to receive three months' training, after
which they were to be assigned as replacements to military area forces.

3. In February defense and antiaircraft gun positions within Yulin Harbor and
its vicinity were as follows.*
a. Six cannons and two antiaircraft guns were at Maling (N 18-19, E 109-19).
b. Two antiaircraft guns were at T'ungchingts'un (2729/0064/2625), the site
of Command (sic) Headquarters.
c. Four cannons and three antiaircraft guns were at Futaot'ai (2421/1497/0669),
which is southwest of Sanya Airfield (N 18-16) E 109-30),
d. Four cannons were at Yanglan.chiaoling (5017/2936/6037/1545) where four
ammunition dumps have been established,

e. Eight cannons were at Sanyaling (0005/0068/1-545)-
