Several hardware and software problems impacted availability
The online RECON application had software
problems from Wednesday through Friday when a bad pointer area on
the master directory was discovered and repaired. TADS appli-
cation experienced graphics interface controller (GIC) problems,
and other software problems have been hanging the TADS IBM 158
system. SPD is investigating. GIMPROD was impacted Thursday and
GIMDEV and GIMPROD on Friday due to Amdahl 470/V6 hardware prob-
lems. Outstanding problems remain with the GIC and TADS system
hands and the ongoing channel detect errors on the IBM 168-1.
