Dear Governor Adams: This is to acknowledge a list of names and certain elle which your office received from the Nearer Commission and which you turned over to this Agency on 2 awe 1955. (Tab A) This list appears to be similmir to a list of names received from Senator McCarthy on 17 March 1953 Crab 1), and a list received from the Clark Committee on 25 March 1955 (50) C). Some at thole mimes also appeared in a list received by this Agency from the Federal Bureau of Investigation on 13 May 1955 (page 3, paragraph h), 'bleb hat in turn received the list from General Clark. The list of 2 June 1955 (Mab A) included, in part, definite allegations, and it is noted that the allege tions concern security type informmtion in five instances, allegations of "administrative conduct" in six instances, and eight noses without any allegations or other descriptive data. As I have advised you orally this Agency has made attempts to Obtain definite information whenever *1 tions t*ve been made against our employees and has expressed the desire to fully investi gate and resolve any case in which the security or integrity of an employee of this Agency is challenged. The record in this regard is as follows: a. On 17 March 1953 I received an informal list Crab B) from Senator McCarthy. Six individuals named on this list were mot employees of CIA.
