MEMORANDUM FOR: Associate Deputy Director for
Intelligence
SUBJECT CIA Documents at Cornell College (Iowa)
1. Per your instructions, on 1 August I phoned
Mrs. Gail Heiserman, the writer of the attached letter.
Mrs. Heiserman had the CIA documents at hand. Her
package consists of about 20 of the unclassified
OER reports released to universities between 1960-
67. They include:
The East German Financial System
(ER 66-28, December 1966)
Foreign Trade of the European Satellites
in 1965: A Statistical Summary
(ER 66-27, November 1966)
Unemployment in the Soviet Union
Fact or Fiction? (ER 66-5,
March 1966)
Mrs. Heiserman stated that none of the documents
were marked Confidential, Secret, or Top Secret,
and that all of the numbers on all of the documents
suggested the same series; i.e., that is, ER, two
numbers, a month and year.
2. I then told Mrs. Heiserman that she could
do with the documents whatever seemed useful to her
college library. I thanked her for her interest
and cooperation and described how she could contact
DocEx of the Library of Congress if she was interested
in acquiring current unclassified Agency publications.

Mrs. Heiserman thanked me for the prompt response
and asked several questions about DocEx.

that Mrs. Heiserman sounds like a very pleasant person
if a future contact at Cornell College would be useful.
