Approved For ReleasdV%@%A&M `. CIA-RDP91-00682R000300100014-6 Office of Legislative Counsel Memorandum for the Director's Log Submitted: 20 March 1952 Legislative Counsel has discussed with the Counsel for the Congressional Committee investigating the Katyn Massacre the 1943 report prepared by entitled Military Intelligence Concerning Soviet Russia, which was originally given 25X1A to the Committee by with the knowledge of Army representatives. The Army has also made representations, citing CIA's interests to the Committee. The document has now been returned by the Committee to G-2, with the understanding that they may request it again when the Committee returns from Europe in May. The document is in the possession of Col. Schrnelzer, Chief of the Security and Mili- tary Information Branch, G-2, who is informing Gen. Bolling of the DCI's position. If there is a further Committee demand for the document, we will be informed by G-Z and join them in protest- ing its release. The Committee counsel has informed CIA Legisla- tive Counsel that he does not believe the Committee needs the document, but certain members may be anxious to have it. Legis- lative Counsel will also speak to a friend of his on the Committee and attempt to secure his assistance in blocking any further Com- mittee request.
