I Talked with William Darden and William Woodruff explaining the Director's desire that they be briefed by Colonel White concernin some of the questions and points raised at the meeting on 9 August on the Hill. Mr. Woodruff will not be able to make it this week. Mr. Darden's plans are to be away next week although these are not firm. This matter will be checked further to attempt to set a date, 3.1 1 Met with Mr. Carl Marcy, Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, during the day and discussed aorain inali ht vein the oes old all the necessary clearances. Mr. Marcy felt that this was well and noted that this had been a personal query on his part in our conversation of yesterday; that it just seemed that the Agency, when faced with this type situation, should take every precaution to insure that no question arrives later as to the propriety of the actions taken by the Agency. I also reviewed, in the time available, the Committee transcript of Friday, 29 July. 4. I I Met with Mr. Phil Kelleher, House Armed Services Committee, d provided various editorial and typographic corrections for the transcript of the House Armed Services Committee hearing on H.
