Abstract T)eVeloped is a method for identification of

employing filter paner: to I ml of 1% alhaloidl
(salt) soliition in 96% C,)H50H ic added 0.05ml
Of dilute 142S04: 1 drop of the obtained solu-
tion is T)laced on filter paper and is treated
with iodine vanors for approx. 30 seconds.
Quinine forms a colored apot ranging from
grayish-red to grayish-blue with dprk yellow
fringes, while quinidine forms n. dark yellow

ABSTRACT.- The establishment of the original plane of the 'Aronal amphitheater
in Pula, Yugoslavia, are but a part of the effect to conserve and eventually
reconstruct fully this historical object. The only other such outline was
prepared In 1899 and is being kept in Vienna. The present work utilizes
Is50 and 1s100 scale ratioa for the base outlay and the upper structures,
respectively. The reconatruction of the original plans is based on 1800
measured points. The present, lost part of tho article, gives a goodatic-
archeological analysis of the measurements. Results show that the form of the
amphitheater Is extremely close to a second order curve. Data processing
yieldsthe values of the parameters of the ollipsoa representing the cross
sections of the various floors of the amphitheater. Student of Geodesy Mato
Lojen assisted during the field work, Eng. Kruno Smit carried out the
terrestrial photogrammetry, Eng. Anica Bruknor prepared the charts, while
Eng. Vladimir Mackovio processed the data (as part of hie diploma work).
