ABSTRACT: The construction, operation, performance, and applications of
a wheeled vacuum carriage, developed at the Central Research Institute
for Physics for the removal by auction of the target area in a particle
accelerator, has been described and illustrated by two photographs and
.seven detailed drawings. The carriage is capable of attaining vacuuMS
of up to 10"6 atm. at a suction'rate of 60 Idsec. It can be remotely
.controlled. Operating experiences with the carriage were discussed.

ABSTRACT: The authors found that the growth of titrains of Geotrichum freshly
isolated from faeces is enhanced by the presenceX accompanying flora. Geottrichum
was most frequently fornd associated with E. coli (51 percent) and K1. Aerobacter
(17 percent). These germs stimulated the-g-r-ow-Wof Geotrichum in vitro, while
staphylocoacus,, dysentery bacilli etc. were indifferent and Proteus inhibited the
growth. Animal exper-bwntation seems to indicate that Geotrichum affects the
