'r~esterling'a well-equipped Angkatang Perang Ratu Ad3.1 (APRA) forces attacking Bandung were transported in 40 trucks* and were carrying new medium and light machine guns? 21 The Tentera Pdasional Indonesia (TNI) base command at Bandung was completely surprised by the attack despite the strong rumors of an impending attack that were current 2022 January. Estimates of the strength of .APRA forces in the Bandung area run from 800 to 2,600 men. 4. The Darul Islam-APRA forces east of Jakarta from Bekassi to Tjibinong greatly outnumber the TNI forces in this area. So far there has been no large scale action on either side. 5. Surnedang, between Cheribon and Bandung, is now surrounded by Darul Islam forces. 6,, gore Tentera Komunis Indonesia** men have been arrested in Jakarta by the TNI. Interrogation of these men indicates their headquarters is in Kampong Sawah, 20 kilometers southeast of Jakarta. 7. Irroc:ular forces are concentrating on the outskirts of Serpong, Tjisauk, and Rumpin on the southwest border of the Jakarta area. It is believed that these troops may attack later this week. 8.
