The s+a:vanese journalist, Sudjatmoko, now is believed to be serving as a
messenger between Tan Malaka* and Dr. ~,. Mochtar, Muwalladi, and other
Co rmunists in Batavia.; Sudjatm.oko, r ho is reported to have returned
recently from New York, also contacts Raden A. Asmaun, Matraraan Plantusen
tic., 22 , Meester Cornelis, regularly.
2. i number of alleged terrorists and Communists in Kampong Lhxku, southwest
of Kuduzswe,;, Menteng, Batavia Centrura, were arrested on May Day on charges
of preparing to sabotage the town.

On 1 May 1949, the PKI was regrouping in the village of Tjiwaru,
District of Lurangung, Residency of Cheribon. The strength of this
group is about 850 men equipped with various small arms. This fighting
force, on order of Tan Malaka, has changed its name to Komruando Persatuan
rakjat kiurba, Coordinated Command of the Peoples Forces. They disseminate
propaganda of the Partai Rakjat, Partai Murba, and Partai Etakjat Djelata,

Wikana, who is reported to be alive; and others. The aforementioned persons
are subordinate to Setiadjit. General headquarters of the Tentara Komunis
Indonesia is reported to be at Karanganom, east of Klaten. Two Dutch
infantry companies and an armored car platoon are garrisoned at Klaten,
zany military--trained members of S jarifudin e s Front Demokrat Rakjat (?DR),
the Pesindo, and the Sentral Organisasie Buruh Seluruh Indonesia (SOBSI)
are reported to have joined the Communist army.

town, where he is posing as the manager of a theatre.

Comment. The New York Times, 7 June 1949, states Col. Sungkono,
Military Governor and commander of Republican forces in '.cast Java, confirmed
the report that he ordered the execution of Tan %ialaka at Blitar on
16 April 1949.
