(The actual apparatus has been presented in the arti- cle by the same author "An Electronic Device Measuring Thicknesses of Oily Layers".) The device consists of an industrial frequency-meter Ich-6, a $peel" DC amplifier vith its pover supply, wA a magnatoelectric oscillogmo of an Card 1/2 ;:'ACCESSION IM: AR402335T- arbitrary type. Such a device permits a continuous registration or the above- mentioned displacements utilizing the frequency difference or two HF-generators. One or them (the standard) generates a highly stabilized frequency., while the second (measuring) produces a variable frequency which is the function of the meter capacitance and Isp consequently,, a function or the meagured dis placements. The basic error of the frequency-meter M-6 vithin the 10-10 cycles/5ec interval is not greater than :t 1.5%. The amplifier Is serviced by an electronic voltage stabilizer with a stabilization coefficient of about 35. The amplifier has a linear characteristic, low sensitivity to voltage variations, and its yield with maximum amplification at the output is t 15 ma. The range or the measured dy- minic displacement oscillations is limited by the resonant eigen-rrequency or the movable electrode of the sensing device. The time scale on the oscillograms, :of the measured dynamical displacement is fixed by the standard tim marker. i There are 7 figures and I table. N. Prilrhodlko. Yhar!kovsk. politekhn. in-ta", 1961, v. _35, 34 - 40) TEXT: The author describes the methods and resulis of investigations concerning the checking of the correctness of the assertion o 'f Viehweg and Kluge (Fiveg and Klyuge) on the presence of a rectifying effect in oil films (partial rectification of alternating current passing through the film). The inverstigation results proved that the cause of the appearance of direct (rectified)current In the oil film during the Viehweg and Kluge experiments is the different work func- tion of materials of the pair-shaft - bearing bush in the presence of spark dis- charge. The a-c rectification does not depend on the presence of surface-active molecules in the oil or oil In general. The opinion taken root in literature that oil films possess a rectifying effect has to be considered as erroneous. TITLE: Investigating the Persf9tence of TV Camera Targets PERIODICAL: Tekhxxika. kino i televideniya, 1957, Nr 10-, pp 32-37 ABSTRACT: Persistence of vidicons is determined by two processes: (1) the sluggish rise and fall of photoconductivity; (2) the sluggish establishment of equilibrium potentials when target illumination varies. The second process i-R the determining one. The persistence can be conveniently characterized by a decrease in definition when moving objects are transmitted. In measuring the persistence, the velocity of movemeat of the object projection in the photelayer plane was set at 3 mm/sec. The persistence of the tubes with various targets, for various lighting and electrical conditions, is evaluated. The persistence decreases with the increase in the photoresistor layer thitkness and the current Card 1/2 SOV/1 12-59-4-7784 Investigating the Persistence of TV Camera Tubes Having Phatocanducting Tax-getz 0 in the switching beam. Mumi-aat-ion has an effect on the persistence ciily withir. 0-20 lx. Variation of s igzal --plate voltage has a very pronounced effect; the value of this voltage between 10 and 60 v should be considered as the aptimu--n (the voltage is measured wit-1.1i respect to the anode for fast electrons and wita respect to the cathode for slow electrons). Target material has an effect Oa the persistence; L118 tubes with the target from Sb?S3 have a higher P*ers_iste::,.ce than tubes with Se target. To reduce this persistence, it is recammr ended that the time constant of the target material be cut, the target N;rorking voltage be lowered, the beam cuxrent be raised, and the secondary-emission coefficient for the target be increased. 1.
