very anxious fearing lest you too, our only channel, known
by your friends there as impartial and reliable had, for some reason
unknown to us, failed to deliver the messages of the voiceless people of
Iran (whom we represent) to those who have contact with influential sources
of authority, who would profit by the warnings on our part and act before:
it is too late,
b)"Maybe it is difficult for Americans to believe how serious the situation
is., for Iran's so-called representatives here and abroad, paint a glowing
picture of what, to them, is manifest in Iran. This is good for them and
their foreign supporters, but to Iran it is a calamity which will end in
a catastrophe unless checked without further delay. We see in you the
true link between our people and America. Your life and sacrifices prove
that to us, you must know that during these critical times, when the present
so-called government controls all channels of information, and few dare
to communicate the actual state of things in writing - we have found some
ways by which we can reach you. It is still more difficult to send messages
through Iranians who are invited to America for study and observation,
because as you well know, the committees who select these individuals make
sure to send the most unrepresentative Iranians who would speak in their
own interests, i.e, in the interests of the government which sends them,.
and as the majority of them scarcely know English, there is no chance of
the dangerous facts becoming known in the US. Despite all these difficulties
we have not failed to take the necessary risks, and have sent you true
information. It is very difficult for us to believe that the dangerous
situation in Iran caused by the close cooperation between the British and
the Soviets with our present government is not known in America. The final
outcome of this must be the establishment of Soviet influence in the north
at first, and then its expansion in Iran, and through that channel to all
the countries in the Near and Middle East. It is not clear to them that
this Anglo-Soviet cooperation is pressing for the admission of Communist
China to the United Nations; and in the guise of "peaceful co-existence'
will either confront the US with an accomplished fact and induce her to
abandon and withdraw from Asiatic and Old World affairs, or the US will be
forced to acquiesce ate at the
~ price of her idealism and moral
principle/~ 25X1 A2g

c) "Why is it that the voice of that 'mountain-climbing judge' (Douglas)
is not heeded. 'The reason why America', he says, 'has made only
enemies in Asia and elsewhere, in spite of pouring. thousands of
millions into its effort to help those nations, is'that the US is
supporting governments in those countries which do not at all represent
the peoples, but rather are rated as stooges of foreign colonial
powers, which in fact are parasites upon those nations.'
d) "This is more than ever true of the present government of Iran, and
those just preceding it. What makes it more tragic is that the US
sees in them 'friends of the West' and saviors of Iran from Communism,
while in reality the very existence of these governments depends upon
their continuing to abet the Anglo-Soviet exploitation of Iran, and
the elimination of all US influence which is the only hope of our nation.
e) "We earnestly hope this new attitude will lead to the adoption of an
independent, truly US policy with the arrival of the new ambassador.
Of course, we believe that the choice of a new, fearless, strong and
enlightened Iranian as Premier would inaugurate a new era, which would.
safeguard the nation from the threatening Communist qEression, and remove
the danger of 'neutrality' which the present government has adopted
for its own perpetuation in office, as desired by their Anglo-Soviet
supporters. Pending however, the selection of a representative leader
of the type mentioned above, and since the rapid deterioration and
danger of present conditions calls for immediate action, we believe the
appointment of General Arfa as Premier (who would also be agreeable to
Briti.h interests) as speedily as possible would be the wisest intermediate
step. As you remember, the representative who,, in the General's behalf
conferred with you, gave you the assurance that if he is appointed Premier,
he will make every effort to convince the Iranians of the US's sincere
friendship, and without fear or regard for self interest he would restore
peace and order and put an end to corruption and the present mob rule
in the land.
f) "May we hope that at this critical moment you will convey these facts,
without loss of time, to your friends in the US and assure them that we,
in urging these steps, are ready to die, if need be, to support them
for the liberation of our country."
