in general and of pediatric practice in particular were discussed in a ge-
reral manner. The practitioner must develop an emphathy towards the patient
and his observation should encompass the entire person not just the symp-
toms. High-level professional competence is, of course, a prime requisite.
The legal restrictions and other moral considerations nust be scrupulously
observed. All these considerations apply to an even more pronounced degree

Abstract: [English article, authors' English summary] Phage group I Staphy-
lococcus aureus strains (especially phage type 80/81) exert a low coagulase
and hyaluronidase but high phosphatase activity. Strains belongin.- to phage
.group II show a high coagulase and hyaluronidase and a medium phosphatase'
activity. Phage group III strains produce small amounts of phosphatase;
their hyaluronidase and coagulase activity is of medium degree. Most of the
Ilepidemic" strains are resistant to mercuric chloride. The resistance is
not associated with the increased production of any of the enzymes examined.
