1. Poland has established a testing factory or pilot plant for the
production of Bammexan BHC, an insecticide similar to DDT, in the
former I. G. Farben installation at Dyhernfurth (Brzeg Dolny), about
20 km. northwest of Wroclaw. This installation waslermerly
Anorgana Dyhernfurth; the new Polish name is aokita.
As of December 1954, this pilot plant was producing about 250 kg. of
raw BBC, containing about 14% Gamma, per day. Production at the
plant will probably be expanded in the future.
2. During 1952, Krebs & Co. in Paris began constructing a dosing machine
with an adjustable piston stroke for this installation. The machine
cost about $1,250 and was installed during the summer of 1954 by a
technician from the Krebs firm in Paris. During the summer of 1954
POT4iip,x ordered another dosing machine from Krebs & Co. in Berlin-
Frohnau. The second machine is to be identical with the first and mill
be delivered to the same instellation near Wroclaw in February 1955. .
Since the first machine delivered to Poland showed some deficienciea in
operation, certain minor modifications on the second machine were
requested.
