Abstract: (Authors' English summary modified] It was found by the authors
that passage through the small Intestine Is considerably accelerated by
Diotilan and Prostichol without any disturbance in the morphology or
physiological function of the mucous membrane or the Intestinal wall. There
were no pathological spasms or increased secretion. The small
intestine becompsfilled after 30-60 minutes and the colon after 2 hours.
By using this method, the examination of the entire intes*tinal tract can

TITLE: Logic block network for an automatic optimizer
PLRIODICA.L: Aplikace matematiky, v. 7, no. 6, 1962, 426-439
TEXT: The article is the continuation of work previously published
by the author (Aplikace matematiky, v. 6, 1961, 162-183) which dealt
with the function of an automatic optimizer. The whole method of
optimization, based on approximation, has also been described in
the paper cited. The function of the central block and of the so-
called standard blocks is described. The actual structure of the
optimizer is shown to be independent of the number of the optimated
conditions. In order to increase the number of the oplimated con-
ditions, one just adds further standard blocks for the new parame-
ters. There are 1 figure and 2 tables.

ABSTRACT: The prototype of a small MSP universal decimal computer was built at the Re-
search Institute of Mathematical Machines (Isaledovatellskiy institut matematicheskikh

version of a set of transistorized logic elements developed for the EPOS 2 computer (the set

Abstract: In the late forties and during the f if ties patients who
were affected vith poliomyelitis were concentrated at Janske Lazne
from the whole of Czechoslovakia. As late as 1953,2347 cases
were treated , and in 1957,1074- In 1957 when vaccination by the
Salk and Sabine vaccines was started,the number of cases was quick-
ly reduced. Since 1960 there was not a new case of poliomyelitis
in the whole of Czechoslovakia* Czechoslovakia is the first country
where pol-yomyelitis was completely eradicated, 1 Table, 4 Czech

Abstract (Authors I triglish Swmnary modified) -. A case is reported of primary
diphtheria of the skin of the palms persisting for five moniks which caused
pharyngeal dipht#eria in members of the patient's family. Olphtheria
bacilli of the gravis type were isolated from the seropurulent discharge
of the ulceration. Four children -not vaccinated against diphtheria con-
tracted the disease. The clinical course was severe, in two cases giving
rise to severe Eyocarditie,

The problem consists of applying the Cauer, inspection loss
method to the design of piezoelectric filters for carrier telephon,Y
systems. The odd-order characteristic functions for the filters are
discussed and tbir approximation by means of the Chebyshev poly-
nomials is explained. A lattice filter consisting of three double
piezoelectric resonators and two coils is considered and it is shGwn
that it has a characteristic function of the fifth order. A method
of evaluating the electric parameters of the coils and piezoolectric
resonators is shown. The procedure is applied to the desi6n of the
bandposs filter operating between 60.8 and 63.5 kc/s and havinL an
attenuation of about 0.02N in the pass-bond and more thar: 61T in the
stop-bond; each step in the calculations is carefully explained.
