it was stated that the level of lipases in the serum Is Increased in m.s. and that
this incrente was prenter In prorrespive cAces than in cases with romisqions. The
present paper reports observatiana of the level of lipases in 28 cases of m.o. at
14-day intervals over a period vnrvin,- from 6 months to 2 yr. In 22 cases an
increase corresponded to clinicnl exacerbation and a decrease to remission. In 9
cages the lipolytic curve followed the clinical course ex,,.ctly. Intermittent
infecti,ons. injury etc. may cause an Increase in the level of limses without clinical
progression. A relationship between the m.o. and.the level of linolytic ferments is
verified. Observation of the level is useful in the assessment of various therapeutic

ABSTRACT: Orientation effect on the electric conductivity of polymers has been
investigated. It was found that the electric conductivity of the polymer decreases
6-100 timesand the conductivity of anisotropy appears as a result of uniax1al
stretching of tetrafluoroethyle Aand vi 1co221:werr~y 2.5 -- .10
times. The value of electric conductivity of the stretched samples is higher in
the stretching direction than in the perpendicular. The authors thank V. A. Seminay

The effects of oral isoniazid (20 mg./kg.) PAS (100 mg./kg.) and P,15-hydrazide
(20-100 mg./kg.) were compared In guinea-pigs inoculated with U. tuberculosis
H37P.v. Animals treated with PAS and its hydrazido showed no significant im-
provement when compared with untreated controls. Isoniazid limited the spread
of the infection (to an equal degree for the 2 commercial brands tested).

tissue of tonsils considerably inhibit the anaphy-
lactic reaction. In hypothermia shock does not

the moment of applying the 1o&4, the Laplace transformation Is
applied to systems of Integral equations derived for leastatic and
hyperstatic prestressed structures. Thus the problem reduces to
the solution of systems of linear algebraic equations, which is-
cilltate considerably the attainment of effective results. The dIf-
ficulties of Inverse transformation are discussed. Possibilities of
ea simplifications are Indicated and Illustrated by a numerical ex-
ample of computation of a two-hinSe rectangular frame.
