It agreed that intra- agency and department coordination for research should be further developed. A formal centralized mechanism for interagency and department coordination would not be authorized at this time. The Board noted the informal co- ordinating procedures now being conducted by OIR of the Department of State, agreed to PSB Staff association with these activities, and directed the PSB Staff to make further recomriendations with respect to the pro- blems elicited in the briefing.
